Steve Wretling
Steve Wretling is the Chief Technology and Innovation Officer for HIMSS: a global voice, advisor and thought leader of health transformation through health information and technology with a unique breadth and depth of expertise and capabilities to improve the quality, safety, and efficiency of health, healthcare and care outcomes.
As Chief Technology and Innovation Officer for HIMSS, Wretling strategically guides enterprise-wide initiatives around digital innovations and technology. Before joining HIMSS in 2018, Wretling served concurrently as the global chief technology officer for DaVita, Inc. and chief information officer for DaVita Integrated Kidney Care. Wretling delivered key capabilities for DaVita initiatives including a flagship mobile app for chronic patients, a telehealth platform, a health information exchange (HIE) platform, a new electronic medical record system for in-center kidney care, and various physician and clinical team tools. Wretling also served in a number of progressive roles for nearly 10 years at Kaiser Permanente, most recently as vice president of information services for care delivery. Wretling earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kansas.
